I am back!!
离别了三个月，我终于回到了温暖的家。
这三个月给我一个不同的体验
没有家人的日子，没有电话电脑的日子，
没有与外界通讯的日子
没有烦恼的日子……
从一开始的不想去，想家
到后来习惯那儿的生活习惯，
经历了很多东西，
遇到了不少朋友，虽然有年龄的差距，但还是真心相对
24小时都面对着，一起吃饭、冲凉、睡觉、洗衣、被罚的日子
一切都已成了回忆…
很庆幸他们在我生日时送我的一本日记，
好让我可以把握在那儿经历的喜怒哀乐地记录下来
毕竟那是我唯一抒发情绪的管道
偶尔看会那些年所发生的事件
总会从心里会心一笑 =]
国民服务并不是一个噩梦
是在于你会不会享受

I cried like hell just now
Although this is not the first time i stayed outside,
but its the first time i m gonna leave home for 3 months
yess...going to NS
actually, its only 62 days including CNY and other holidays
i used to go camping,
but usually its only 2 or 3 days
even if its outstation,
i can still sms and contact my parents..
no need to wash my own clothes bla bla bla
i noe its time for me to learn all these..
coz i dunno wat will i go for my tertiary education.
mayb hk? sg? or other states in malaysia
still, i have to learn to be independent
I miss granny..
tears rolling down when i think that i have to live alone in the campsite,
leaving granny alone preparing for CNY,
no more granny home-cooked food for 2 months..
i m gonna miss that a lot!!
the thing i worried most is the life over there..
with others tat are 2 years younger than me.
i dont know whether i can mix well with them or not..
neh, i noe that my worries are too over
coz i will be back next week for cny
dunno got how many days holiday..
no matter what,
i will be applying bac on 27th jan,
for the ASEAN interview
just hope that they allow me to go home on cheh 9..
i want to pai ti gong..
i joined every year and i dont wish to miss it!!!

令人敬佩的职业 - 战地医生
今天早上，在《学海》看到一篇文章，深深感动了我…
那是一篇关于战地医生的报道。
受访的是一名24岁的战地医生。
非常年轻又伟大的战地医生，值得敬佩的一个人。
我向你致敬！
战地的生活并不好过，每天睡的是帐篷，吃的是干粮，也没有一个安定的住所。
我觉得一个普通人都不愿意呆的地方，他竟然自愿去帮忙。
每天过着提心吊胆的日子，随时会性命不保。
他说，他现在虽然回到了马来西亚，但在哪儿训练出来的警觉心还没完全放下。有一次她在朋友的生日会上突然听到外面放鞭炮，第一个反应就是往桌子下钻。
晚上的时候都浅眠，一点小小的声音都会把他吵醒。
当遇到陌生人的时候，他会随时随地的观察对方，看看对方是不是有什么不良企图。
他曾有过与死神擦肩而过的经验。
那时候他在一辆车上，突然有一位士兵跑来韩永利的压下他的头。他吓傻了，以为那位士兵对他有什么不良企图。在那个时候，他看见汽车上有一个子弹孔，原来是那位士兵就了他一命！
听他述说他的故事，我也想起我小时候的梦想…
小时候，当我在电视上看见那些到非洲当自愿医疗队的医护人员时，就非常敬佩他们。
想长大后仿效他们，到自愿团体当义工。
现在，我觉得战地医生更值得我敬佩，应为他们在用他们的生命来救那些命在旦夕的人。
我记得他说过一句话，当战地医生要够狠，果断和灵敏。曾经有一位17岁的女孩被从高处掉下来的砖头砸伤，在毫无麻醉药的情况下，他叫别人抓着他的手脚，然后开始往他的头钻洞。他对记者说，那是很无奈的，虽然很痛，但这是唯一活命的方法啊！
当初，他的家人极力反对他的做法。但他还是坚持己念，往那伟大的路迈进。
他说在出发前，他已把自己的遗书写好了。
我吓倒了！他会这么做是在为自己做最坏的打算。我…做不到…
有一阵子，我曾出现过像要放弃我那小时候的梦想。
但读完那篇文章，我才觉得自己有多么的自私。
只想到自己，而没想到那些需要帮助的人们。
我决定了！我要朝自己的梦想迈进，虽然不知道能成功与否，但至少我努力过。=）
Hong Kong University Taster Days III
Third day - 9th June
We had arts workshop today. We are separated into 3 different groups and places into three different lecture hall. We learnt 3 different language which is Korean, Japanese and German.
Go-ma-wo-yo, arigato gozaimasu, danke.

Later on we have a lecture on linguistic workshop which now only I know there are more than 6000 language in the whole world and the biggest language in the world is not English but Chinese because they have the highest people to lecturers ratio.
After that is the philosophy workshop which made us think what is happiness and meaning of life.
If there are a machine that can brings you to the future, will you try on it?

Afternoon session we went to visit St. Pauls Co-ed College. They had a music performance for us. Quite nice and enjoying, especially the choir and the clarinet. Later on the students from the college lead us for a heritage walk along Hong Kong park. Our group have Cynthia leading us, a sweet girl. =) We visited the visual arts museum, bird park and the Olympic square.

After the leisure walk, we said farewell to the new-made friends from the college and went up our coach back to global lounge for our farewell activities.
The committee wants us to decorate a birthday card for HKU as HKU is approaching 100 years and they will organise a grand event to celebrate its birthday. One of the condition is we have to go through few stations to obtain the materials for the birthday card. They divide the materials we need into 5 different stations, which is paper, writing materials, cutting materials, adhesion and extra materials. These 5 stations were located in 5 different places and we were given a map to find out where they are. To obtain good materials for your group, you have to fast as the materials are 'first come first served' based.
After discussing, we decided to went up Swire Hall first to obtain our writing materials as I think not much people will go there. As expected, we were the first group to reach there. We were asked to identify 25 the important things, people or building in the specific country around the world. Khai Liang was the only one that keep answering throughout the session. Amazingly, we complete the task within 5 minute and we successfully chose the writing materials we want.
Next, we ran to Main Library there to ask for our adhesion materials. At that station, we were ask to explain out the phrases about green environment without saying our the words for out team mates to guess. Thirdly, we went to Shaw buildings to obtain our cutting materials. In that station, we have to arranged out the location of hostel of HKU on the map. We did it in a short period as there were explanation given and we did some cheats too. XD
After that we went to the paper station to get some paper. We have to learn an African Dance before we can get our paper. The dance is mostly based on the sound of clapping. It has to be fast and the timing have to be very accurate. It was fun to learn it.
We was the last group to reach the last station for the extra materials. The task there is to identify the national flags of different countries and say 'Thank You' using their countries' national language. The last thing we got from there was a smiley cop.
Overall, the materials we got can be considered not bad. The paper is just sufficient for us, we got glue, scissors and marker pens. The only thing we lack of is pencil. Therefore, we exchanged out marker with a pencil which enable us to draw.
We were very satisfied on our final product as it was really nice. We had a buffet dinner in between the preparation time and some of us just ate a little as we were busy decorating the card.

Hong Kong University Taster Days II
Second Day - 8th June
Gathered at Bay View Restaurant for breakfast at 8am. Had a Chinese dim sum as breakfast. That was the yummy-est dim sum I had ever tried in HK for the three days.
Later on we went on our coach to the site engineering. I was arranged to white group which is under the civil engineering part. We went to visit the site for the sewage treatment along Victoria Harbour. From there I know how the sewage was treated before they were released to the sea - chlorination and dechlorination.
While walking through the factory, we were asked to put on the safety equipments which made me very uncomfortable.

Water are sprayed on top of the sewage to cover the smell. The smell caused by ammonia will condensed to ammonium thus the smell will gone off. Such a brilliant idea!
After lunch, we got some free time before our engineering workshop started. Thus, Ken and Cissy brought us to go around HKU campus again. We went in Stephen Hui Geological Museum and saw many collection of minerals, rocks and fossils. The natural colour of the minerals has made me impressed.
Later on they brought us to the Main Building of HKU, which has a 100 years of history. The air flow there is not as good as other campus. You can feel the old type of university when you walk around the old main building.

During the engineering workshop, we were asked to build a spaghetti bridge with uncooked spaghetti. We have to consider the weight of the spaghetti and the weight that the bridge can support. Those with the highest ratio of weight exerted to the weight of the bridge is the winner of this project.

It is not as easy as it is to build the spaghetti bridge. The spaghetti has to be glued really parallel to each other in order to make it tough, and the glue provided is very very sticky and will stick your hand in a short period if you did not realise its existence.
At last, we have completed our spaghetti bridge. it weighed 39.1g and it can support 700g of weight, with a ratio of 17.1. *Applause!!*

Evening, we went to Tsim Sha Tsui for sight seeing and free activities. However, after watching the light symphony in TST, we detour to Mong Kok instead of staying in TST. One of the condition is we have to be back to the hostel before 12am, a nice and reasonable condition. =) The light symphony in TST was really great with the lights and sound effect. Khai Liang brought us to the most strategic place to enjoy the show. Great thanks to him. Mong Kok was really same as what I have seen in the TVB dramas, with all the neon sign along the streets. We walk along the ladies market and did some shopping there. Not really many cheap things we can get there. Its just like Malaysia's pasar malam.

~DAY TWO ENDED~
Hong Kong University Taster Days I
Went to Hong Kong University for 4 days 3 nights taster days programme. This programme actually is planned for overseas students to know HKU better and to promote them to study in the university in the future. They have invited the top 25 schools in over 10 countries to join this programme.
HKU invited our school to send 3 students there to join this programme. Our teachers open this opportunity to the top 20 from each stream. Those who eligible can write their names and prepare for the interview. I was lucky to be chosen to this programme as I was the last candidate to be chosen from the list. Yvonne Yew and Khai Liang joined me in this tour to HK.
The fee of this programme is fully sponsored by HKU including food and logging. We will only have to food the bill of our air ticket. Furthermore, there will be a fixed allowance of HKD1500 given to us to cover our spendings on our air ticket. Therefore, we do not spend much on this trip actually.
First day - 7th June
Went to airport early in the morning to catch the earliest plane to Hong Kong. We took Cathay Pacific to HK as we got the promo price. Thanks to Steven koko for helping me getting such a cheap fare. Love the breakfast provided by cathay. It was yummy, just they have to prepare more tomato sauce for me will do. =)

Reached there at around 11.30am. Meet Josephine in front of Burger King for the coach to HKU. We strolled in HKIA as we still have around 1 and half hour free time before the second coach reached for us. HKIA is really big compared to Penang International Airport. We even have to take the express train inside the airport to collect our luggage.
Along the way to the university, I saw the difference in the city comparing HK and Penang. In penang, we saw many trees while in HK are mainly tall buildings. We passed by the Tsing Ma bridge and the container terminal which Jackie Chan's action movie like to shot there. Some roads in HK have only 2 lanes which can be said similar to the lorong in Penang. =)
Finally, we managed to reach HKU. The coach first drop us to Wei Lun Hall, which is our hostel for the whole programme. Frankly, the room for us can be considered not bad already. A twin sharing room with air conditioned, bathroom with hot water supplied, a common room with a water cooler and refrigerator.
My room-mate is not Yvonne as expected, the organiser wish to separate us from the same school and knew other participants as well. I was arranged to be in the same room as Rachel, a girl from Johor currently studying in Taylor's, Subang. She is a nice and friendly girl. Its nice to be her room-mate.
The first group activity was the orienteering activities. We have to solve 20 questions about HKU by running the whole campus. Phew, tiring and I can say that its not very fun at all. Maybe we do not know the place very well. Overall, we got the 5th place. Not bad de right? Actually there was only 8 groups in this programme. Haha. As the penalty, our group have to perform during the welcoming dinner later.
We had our dinner in Joseph's Restaurant. It served us western food. The food there quite nice just the magician which perform for us a little bit... However, it is considered good as he is still a beginner. A plus for him for his courageous to perform on top of the stage.
